Time Travel To the Future is Theoretically Possible!

By: Mahnoor Farooqi - Researcher

Have you ever wondered where the research on time travel has gotten to? Well good news is time travel one way to a distant future - as in 100 to 200 years- is theoretically possible!

There is more than one theory related to time travel but none have come as close as the theory constructed using Einstein's theory of general relativity. In simpler terms Einstein says that anyone moving faster (closer to the speed of light) will not be affected by general side effects of time like ageing or boredom. This is why most astronauts

seem to look far younger than their peers.

Secondly, all planets experience time differently. Say there is a planet 100 years farther into the future from earth, if scientists manage to create aircraft that can move adjacent to the speed of light then a human is capable of travelling to that planet and finding themselves 100 years in the future. Furthermore, by the time they travel back, earth

itself will be 100 years into the future!

Unfortunately though it is just a theory for now as crafting a vehicle that can move at the speed of light is nigh impossible but who knows Maybe sometime in the future - no matter how far away - scientists will have figured it out?
